HOW TO DISCONNECT REMOTE VEHICLE ACCESS
Rivian customers have the right to protect themselves from potential misuse of remote vehicle technology in situations of domestic violence by revoking remote vehicle access from their abusers. Once remote vehicle access has been disabled, revoked individuals will no longer be associated with the Rivian vehicle, their phone will no longer function as a key and they will lose the ability to view or interact with the vehicle in the Rivian app. This process can only be executed pursuant to applicable state law or valid legal order.
If your Rivian account email is the primary one associated with your vehicle, follow the Primary Owner process to revoke access. All others should follow the Invited Driver process.
Primary Owner
As the primary owner of a Rivian, you can revoke Rivian app access at any time from anyone you’ve previously invited to use your vehicle, listed in the Drivers and keys section of the Rivian app. Select the driver’s name and tap Revoke access to remove them.
Invited Driver
If you are the victim of domestic violence and need to revoke remote vehicle access from the Primary Owner, submit a support inquiry. See below for the documentation you need to submit with your request.
A member of our Customer Support team will contact you within two business days of submission to confirm vehicle access has been revoked from the Primary Owner, or to request additional information.
Note: this reassigns digital ownership of the vehicle, but does not impact legal ownership.
Required support documents for your request include:
A document that includes your vehicle’s VIN (registration, proof of insurance, etc.)
Proof of legal right to possession through one of the following documents:
Vehicle title
Vehicle title + lease agreement in requester’s name
A court order awarding sole possession or ownership of a vehicle to the requester
Proof of marriage of the requester and vehicle owner at the time the vehicle was bought or leased
- A written attestation that the requester has been a victim of domestic violence
What can I expect during a demo drive?
The best way to familiarize yourself with R1T and R1S is to book a demo drive at one of our spaces or service centers. During your drive appointment, you’ll have the opportunity to experience the vehicle's performance, capabilities and features — including materials and in-vehicle navigation, on a set route.
In the interest of everyone's safety:
You must be 21 or older to drive a vehicle.
You're required to sign a general liability waiver on-site before driving a vehicle.
Any guest under the age of 8 must be secured in a car seat that must be installed by the guest driving the vehicle. Specifics are subject to local jurisdiction.
We also have display vehicles with additional configurations and accessories, and Rivian team members will be available to help answer your questions about charging, storage and more — before or after your drive appointment.

A 60-day trial of Connect+ will begin on the date of your delivery. Connect+ will cost $14.99 per month or $149.99 per year. You'll be notified towards the end of your trial and be able to sign up via the Rivian app, in-vehicle infotainment and your Account Page.
All Rivian vehicles continue to come with standard connectivity features such as:
Regular over-the-air software updates
Live navigation
Remote vehicle commands
Phone as a key
Alexa Basic (for vehicle commands)
Tethering (connecting the vehicle to an external Wi-Fi network or phone hotspot)
What vehicle incentives do I qualify for?
You may be eligible for federal, state or local incentives subject to applicable incentive terms and conditions.¹
Federal Incentives
Clean vehicle credits are not available for vehicles acquired after September 30, 2025. Visit IRS.gov for the latest information about consumer clean vehicle credits and commercial clean vehicle credits.
Section 179 Deductions
R1S and R1T both meet the necessary requirements for a Section 179 deduction. Taxpayers can claim a deduction of up to $30,500 for the business use of a Rivian vehicle for the tax year in which the vehicle is purchased/placed in service. To qualify, the vehicle must be used for business purposes more than 50% of the time. Certain exclusions and limitations apply.

- Alaska Power & Telephone AMP UP offers an electric vehicle incentive.
Arizona
- Arizona offers HOV Lane access for Alternative Fuel Vehicle license plates.
California
California, Bay Area Air Quality Management District's Clean Cars for All offers a vehicle buy-back program which may help participants offset the purchase price of a new electric vehicle.
California Bureau of Automotive Repair offers a vehicle retirement incentive for retiring an operational vehicle which may help participants offset the purchase price of a new electric vehicle.
Central Cost Community Energy (CCCE) offers rebates of up to $3,000 to customers for the purchase of a new or used EV.
Plumas-Sierra Rural Electric Cooperative offers an electric vehicle rebate.
Silicon Valley Clean Energy offers an EV Rebate for the purchase or lease of a new or pre-owned EV for qualified customers.
Colorado
- Colorado Zero Emission Vehicle Tax Credits offers a vehicle tax credit for electric vehicles.
Florida
Florida offers HOV Lane access, with an HSMV HOV decal.
Orlando Utilities Commission offers a rebate for electric vehicles.
Georgia
- Georgia offers HOV Lane access for Alternative Fuel Vehicle license plates.
Hawaii
- Hawaii offers HOV Lane access for Alternative Fuel Vehicle license plates.
Illinois
- Eligible Illinois residents that meet income thresholds may be eligible for an electric vehicle rebate. The rebate application cycle will open on October 28, 2025 and run until May 31, 2026.
Louisiana
- Louisiana provides a tax credit for residents who purchase an “alternative fuel” vehicle.
Maine
- Efficiency Maine offers a Plug-In Vehicle rebate.
Massachusetts
The Massachusetts Offers Rebates for Electric Vehicles (MOR-EV) provides a state rebate for the purchase of battery electric trucks and SUVs.
The Tuanton Municipal Lighting Plant offers a customer rebate for the purchase of a new or used Electric Vehicle.
Michigan
Cherryland Electric Cooperative offers residential customers a $500 rebate for the purchase of a new or pre-owned EV.
Presque Isle Electric & Gas Co-Op offers customers a $1,500 rebate for the purchase of a new Electric Vehicle.
Minnesota
- E-ZPass Minnesota offers a one-time electric vehicle incentive.
Mississippi
- Mississippi Power offers residential customers rebates for new, leased or preowned BEVs.
New Jersey
- New Jersey offers HOV Lane access for electric vehicles.
North Carolina
North Carolina offers HOV lane access for plug-in electric vehicles.
Pee Dee Electric offers its customers a one-time bill credit of $150 for the purchase of an EV.
Texas
- The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality offers up to a $2,500 grant for purchasing or leasing a new electric vehicle.
Utah
- Utah offers HOV Lane access with a Clean Vehicle Pass.
Vermont
Vermont Electric Co-Op offers a one-time $500 bill credit to members who purchase or lease a new or pre-owned BEV.
Vermont Public Power Supply Authority member customers are eligible for rebates of up to $1,400 on the purchase of a new all-electric vehicle (BEV) or up to $500 on the purchase of a pre-owned electric vehicle.
Green Mountain Power offers a rebate for electric vehicles.
Virginia
- Virginia offers HOV Lane access for Alternative Fuel Vehicle license plates.
Washington
- The Washington Department of Revenue offers tax credits for businesses that purchase new commercial vehicles powered by clean alternative fuel.

How does delivery work?
Our delivery team is focused on creating a seamless and convenient experience that guides you from configuration to the first time you drive your Rivian — including service center pickups and home deliveries where available.
We'll be in touch to help you prepare for your vehicle, including finalizing your payment method and applying for financing, trading in your current vehicle and completing any remaining documents. When it’s time to make your final payment, you’ll be able to do so from your Rivian account.
On delivery day, you can set up your digital key through the Rivian app to immediately get on the road. To get better acquainted with your vehicle, you can ask a Rivian Specialist for a walkthrough or explore on your own time.
How do trade-ins work?
A trade-in is used as a credit towards your new Rivian. You can obtain a trade-in estimate anytime before ordering or during the digital purchasing experience.
We accept most makes and models of vehicles, though some may require manual review. Rivian can accept only one trade-in vehicle per customer.
These decisions are determined by a combination of user-supplied information, market value and vehicle history. Rivian will collect your trade-in vehicle on delivery day.

Rivian is building out a network of Service Centers to support all Rivian owners. Currently, visits to our Service Centers are by appointment only. If you need vehicle service, you can report vehicle issues and request a service appointment in the Rivian app or by calling the Rivian Service Support Team at (855) RIVIAN5.
